Description

IHOP is a restaurant with multiple locations in Mexico that specializes in serving breakfast and a wide variety of delicious dishes.

Context

IHOP sought to develop a responsive, self-managing website that would address the need for frequent updates to its menu, as well as provide detailed information about each of its locations and the foods they offered.

The problem IHOP was facing was a lack of accumulated data from its previous website, which included outdated Flash snippets. Corporate information was significantly outdated, creating a poor impression on visitors. Additionally, the company's corporate image was outdated and required a renovation to reflect its current image and web design trends.


It was decided to develop a new completely responsive and self-managing website using modern web technologies. To facilitate constant updating and changes to the menu, a content management system (CMS) was implemented that allowed IHOP staff to easily make changes. Information for each branch was integrated into the site, along with details about the food and menu. Additionally, a corporate image review was conducted and updated to reflect IHOP's brand identity in a more modern and attractive way.

Investigation

Extensive research was carried out, ranging from an audit of the previous website, an analysis of the audience and competition, to constant consultation with the client.

Ideation

The goal was to create a new website that was responsive and self-managing, able to adapt to IHOP's changing needs. This included a review of the brand image and the organization of relevant content, such as menu and branch information, to provide visitors with an informed and engaging experience. 

Conclusions

The implementation of a responsive and self-managed site has made it possible to keep information updated and facilitate the user experience, which has surely had a positive impact on customer satisfaction and the flow of traffic to the branches. Overall, IHOP has taken an important step toward modernizing its online presence and improving interaction with its customers.
